Painting 2009-2010

Maryline Brunet revisits images found on the net that she selects and reframes, these insignificant photographs , a few pixels at most , fugacious fragments of the complexity of our society.
It is an obsessive job : Maryline Brunet builds files compulsively .
The works give to see individuals, models somehow, the subjects whose portrait begins to exist. These paintings are, paradoxically in a more genuine way, the mirror of the world, more than the photographs whose they stem. Far from the distanced descriptif register of photography, these paintings give to see an other subject because they leave behind the item of news, the medias, the anonymous subject, these works are evidence, a reality, the one we can no longer see.
The gesture , the colored palette which create the characters, disclose them in a progress slow, cautious and circumspect .
The immutability of these images is laid bare here in these paintings.
